Teleperformance is hiring for several call center jobs in Guyana.

Five new positions open up as call center operation expands

GEORGETOWN, GUYANA — Several new full-time jobs, including some senior management roles, are now available as a business process outsourcing (BPO) company expands its operations in Guyana.

Teleperformance has offices in Jamaica, Guyana and the Dominican Republic.

Teleperformance boasts itself as one of the “biggest teams in the world”, with offices across the globe.

In the Caribbean, the company has an office in Guyana, as well as offices in Jamaica and the Dominican Republic.

It’s now on the verge of opening a second center in Guyana, and actively seeking to hire more people as a result.

This follows announcements made by the government at the start of this year during the budget debate.

The Ali administration hinted last month that hundreds more BPO jobs would be coming on stream this year, in line with its efforts to provide some 50,000 jobs to Guyanese people by 2025.

More call center jobs in Guyana

Some of the roles Teleperformance is seeking to fill will be located in its new physical office, which will reportedly open in the weeks ahead.

But others are offering candidates the opportunity to work from home, which is a unique and highly-coveted feature not just for jobs in the Caribbean but throughout North America and Europe as well.

Several of the positions provide the opportunity to work from home.

Teleperformance is hiring an Assistant Contact Center Manager and Sales Advocate as in-person positions, with both roles requiring one to two years of relevant experience.

The Assistant Contact Center Manager will assist with smooth operation of the call center, including acting as a Point of Contact to identify and resolve issues. The successful candidate will also ensure compliance with Teleperformance policies and procedures.

Meanwhile, the Sales Advocate will mostly perform outbound telemarketing, related data entry and similar administrative duties.

However, the company is also hiring entry-level Customer Service Representatives and Tech Support Agents as home-based roles.

Additionally, Teleperformance is looking to hire a Global IT Process Manager, which is a major management job.

This position requires five years of relevant experience, including experience managing an international team, as the successful candidate will be responsible for “leading the strategy and development of the brands’ program’s short to mid-term innovation projects…across global markets”.

For the remote jobs in Guyana, Teleperformance requires that successful candidates have a “dedicated, closed and quiet workspace at home”.

Further, they “must have 5mgs DSL internet or Blaze; a quiet, professional workspace dedicated to working during working hours; and space that is free from any background noise or distractions”.

“Children, friends and family are not allowed in the workspace during scheduled hours,” the company noted.

It also said remote employees are not permitted to use their cell phones in the workspace during scheduled hours, or use smart devices like Google Home or Alexa. They must also commit to keeping their desks and workspace clean.
